Although SmartCocoon is fully integrated with Nest and ecobee thermostats, it is also compatible with virtually all other thermostat brands and HVAC systems. Regardless of the thermostat installed in your home, SmartCocoon can synchronize its operation with your heating and cooling system.
To get started, install the fan in the vent while the HVAC system is not running and add the device to the SmartCocoon app. In the app, select the appropriate HVAC mode (Heating or Cooling). The device will begin learning your system and should start operating in sync with the next HVAC cycle.
Once the learning process is complete, the device will continue to operate in sync with your HVAC system, regardless of the type of thermostat installed in your home.
If you prefer not to use the app, simply install the device in the vent while the HVAC system is off and leave it in place. In this case, the device will require a few HVAC cycles to learn the behavior of your system and achieve full synchronization. Additionally, whenever your HVAC system changes modes (Heating ↔ Cooling), the device will need some time to adapt and relearn the new operating pattern.
