It is very important for the SmartCocoon fan to operate in sync with your HVAC system, meaning it should only run when the heating or cooling system is active.
If the fan runs while the HVAC system is off, it may push unconditioned air into the room, which can make the room feel colder during the winter or warmer during the summer.
SmartCocoon synchronizes with the main HVAC system in two ways:
1. Integration with Nest or ecobee Thermostats
If your home is equipped with a Nest or ecobee thermostat, SmartCocoon can integrate directly with it. The fan will then start and stop based on signals received from the thermostat, ensuring accurate synchronization with your heating and cooling system.
2. Internal Sensor-Based Synchronization
If your home uses a different thermostat, SmartCocoon automatically switches to its built-in synchronization mode. Using its internal sensors, the device continuously monitors conditions inside the ductwork and analyzes temperature patterns to determine when the HVAC system is running. Based on these measurements, SmartCocoon automatically adjusts its operation to stay in sync with the main system.
