If your SmartCocoon is not properly syncing with your ecobee thermostat, you might need to adjust your ecobee temperature threshold setting. Please note that these changes must be made to the ecobee thermostat and cannot be done on the ecobee application.

Please follow these steps:

1- Go to settings> installation setting> threshold

2- Find temperature correction or heat/ cool differential temperature depending on the version of your ecobee thermostat

3- IF the setting is below 0.8 °C or 1.5 °F, please change IT to 0.8 °C or 1.5 °F. Otherwise, leave it as it is.

What is this setting, and why do you need to make the change?

The temperature threshold is the minimum temperature differential before engaging cooling or heating. For example, if the threshold is at 0.8 °C (1.5°F), and the desired temperature is set at 22 °C (72°F), the heating will start when the room temperature is at 21.2 °C (70.5°F) and will continue to work until the room gets to 22.8 °C (73.5°F)

Sometimes, the default temperature threshold on ecobee is 0.3 °C (0.5 °F). This will make the system turn on and off more frequently, which is unhealthy for your central cooling or heating system. Optimizing the setting will increase efficiency and maintain comfort. This will also allow SmartCocoon to learn the central system's behavior much faster and provide better performance.
