Both SmartCocoon and Nest/ecobee remote sensors are excellent tools for improving your home's comfort. While they may appear to serve a similar purpose, they work differently and actually complement each other very well.

Nest and ecobee sensors are designed to help the thermostat monitor temperatures throughout your home and make better heating and cooling decisions. SmartCocoon is fully compatible with both systems and will operate in sync with your thermostat.

SmartCocoon Room Sensors, however, take comfort control a step further by communicating directly with the SmartCocoon booster fan. This allows each fan to respond to the actual temperature in its own room. For example, if your SmartCocoon room temperature is set to 22°C while your Nest or ecobee thermostat is set to 20°C, the SmartCocoon fan will continue boosting airflow until the room reaches 22°C, even if the HVAC system is still running.

In addition to room temperature, SmartCocoon Room Sensors also measure humidity, calculate the Humidex (how the room actually feels by taking humidity into account), and provide humidity alerts when levels become too high or too low. These features are particularly useful during humid summers, dry winters, and in spaces such as nurseries, pet rooms, or for individuals with respiratory or other health sensitivities.

Although the two types of sensors may seem similar at first, they serve different purposes. Nest and ecobee sensors help optimize the operation of your HVAC system, while SmartCocoon Room Sensors optimize the comfort of each individual room. Together, they provide a more complete and comfortable home environment.
